“As new-born babies, desire the pure milk of the word that you may grow thereby!” 1 Peter 2:2
You became born again, so you are a new-born and like every child we need a family to take
care of us. We need a family to protect us, to feed us, to change us and to guide and teach us.
This is where so many people miss it. They receive their salvation (born again status) but refuse
to accept the fact that like a new-born baby they don-t really know anything about the new world
they now live in.
God knew this and so He designed a family for everyone to be part of. This family is the church.
“Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.” Psalm 92.13
In this Psalm, we see how David referred to people as trees which need to be planted in the
House of God in order to flourish. You cannot be planted out in the desert! Or somewhere on
your own because your life will never be fruitful outside the church. There are a few things to
look for in a church to make sure the soil is full of nutrition.
The church must love God, love each other, teach the Bible, submit to the work of the Holy
Spirit and have a love for the people who don’t know Jesus as yet.
