We need to be very clear in understanding who Jesus is and what He has done for us in order for us to confidently place our faith in Him. He bridged the gap that separated us from God. Jesus was not just a good man; neither was Jesus merely a great teacher nor simply an inspired prophet. He came to earth as the Son of God, born of a virgin, and led a sinless life. He died and rose again on the third day, where He ascended into heaven, and He became both Lord and Christ. The debt of our sin is settled entirely on the cross. Jesus’ death and resurrection satisfied God’s requirement – complete provision for our sins. Thus Jesus – and only Jesus – is qualified to be a remedy for my sin and yours. This is the Grace bestowed upon us by a loving Father.
